Is Obama the Reincarnation of Abe Lincoln?

Many observers note parallels between Barack Obama and Abraham Lincoln. Both came from humble surroundings; Lincoln lost his mother when he was nine; Obama's father left when he was two. Both are tall, lawyers, and began their political careers in the Illinois legislature and have excellent oratory skills. Lincoln also wrote his own speeches. Some mystics or psychics believe Obama is actually the reincarnation of Lincoln. Even some mainstream pundits have seen obvious similarities.

The author/astrologer, VerDarLuz, says: "Besides the similarities of their personal geographies (impoverished upbringing, Illinois), Obama's South Node, which represents our karmic traces, is on Lincoln's Sun. And the reverse is true: Obama's Sun is on Lincoln's South Node. This powerful reversal may suggest a major spiritual theme that has been circulating between these two souls, trying to be implemented in this country for some time. It very clearly could point to reincarnate energy of the same soul.

Bob Burnett a reporter and blogger for the Huffington Post wrote a piece back in April about the similarities and differences of Barack Obama and Abraham Lincoln. The most striking similarity of course was how both Lincoln and Obama worked to appeal to the "greater angels of our nature," Obama with his speech about race and Lincoln with his first inaugural address.

News pundits and other draw the parallel between both men but does Barack Obama really have a karmic destiny to fulfill? Is he the reincarnation of Abe Lincoln?

If it is true Obama is the reincarnation of Lincoln then it would make karmic sense that Obama would be half black and half white and rise to heal the nation of racism that has gripped us for so long. Bringing forth true equality to everyone in the nation as Lincoln wanted. This would have required a whole different direction than how the country went. Also if it is indeed karmic destiny at play here, then Obama would have to come back to finish what Lincoln had started which is unite the union. The way the red and blue states play out is very similar to the time of Lincoln with the north and south divided almost as it is now.

There is some evidence that Lincoln was a racist. In his day he told "colored" jokes to his black servants, that would have been considered normal in those days but racist today. In many of his speeches, he spoke about the separation of blacks and whites. For example:

"You and we are different races. We have between us a broader difference than exists between almost any other two races. Even when you cease to be slaves, you are yet far removed from being placed on an equality with the white race. You are cut off from many of the advantages, which the other race enjoys. It is better for us both to be separated."-Abraham Lincoln, during a meeting with free Negro leaders, at the White House, August, 1862.

It is argued that he freed the slaves to impoverish the south so that the north could conquer the south and thus keep the union intact. He never let the world forget that the Civil War had a greater issue than freeing the slaves. This he stated most movingly in dedicating the military cemetery at Gettysburg: "that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain--that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom--and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."

In order to make things right in the next life, Obama (if he is indeed the reincarnation of Lincoln) would have to have a whole different vision of what "unity" means, he had to come back to fix the separation in a real way, with a higher purpose. Not just unite the north and south into one, but to come back to unite all people into one nation. He would have to come back to unite people regardless of race.

Reincarnation does not mean that Obama has to look or be like Lincoln, it means that any loose ends that Lincoln left after his assassination, would have to be complete. Lincoln came at the right time for a reason. In order for our creed of "all men are created equal", it had to be inclusive of all people.

Perhaps Obama is here now to prove the words of the constitution, that anyone in this country can have a dream that comes true. He has come at a time when we are ready to aspire to our higher selves. He had to come at a time when people are evolved enough to embrace each other as we rebuild, brick by brick, the American dream.

If the theory of reincarnation is correct, then Obama will not leave this planet until that destiny is fulfilled in this lifetime. Otherwise, he is destined to come back again until his soul mission is complete. This time, there will not be an assassination. The world is different than it was 40 years ago; just the very fact that we are electing an African American president is testament to that.
