1. It's Personal: it's being said that he is a Muslim, a Communist, and a Democrat.
The huge majority of 'No' answers included comments about his religion, socialism, and his party of choice. These three things seem to be taken VERY personally by quite a few people I spoke with. The funny thing is that I've read that he is a Christian while so many people say that he is a Muslim. I'm really not sure about any of the religious stuff. Some of the people have explained to me that his policies on taxation, in practice, would actually raise taxes; I'm really not sure about this because there are still so many questions left out of any articles about his tax policies. As for the party lines, it seems as if there are still quite a few Republican party hard-liners out there. It was a lot of fun hearing these points of view, and their arguments were interesting - some of them were very thought-provoking, but it's too much to write here.
2. Picking the People: searches, indictments, tax frauds, oh my!
There was quite a bit of negativity surrounding his choices, and the people I spoke with who gave me a 'No' answer weren't too happy about it all, either.
3. Stimulus Plan(s): A few others mention the attention to the new budgetary concerns & the homeland.
Some say he's using tax dollars to fulfill a socialist agenda, while others gave me differing ways they wanted things to change their way. Some ideas that were mentioned were: dropping the Robin Hood approach to taxation, including owners of multiple homes in his homeownership program, and trimming the pork.
My local poll really is nothing compared to the next election - we'll find out the whole truth four years from now, but so far, this is just a small start.
What's YOUR reason for saying 'no?' Comments are welcome!
