Is My Opinion of Value?

The Poet
In this world of free speech and more importantly free access to speech in oral form and electronic forms, one wonders what information would be delivered and accepted by the public at large.

Writing has since flourished together with the Internet being now "part of our lives" literally. Books retains its popularity but Internet has been the source to look for news, information, latest trends, opinions, recipes....and any thing you could forge out a name under the sun.

Be that as it may one wonders what information are sent out and most importantly which ones are accepted. Truth, parts of truth, nothing near the truths are everywhere....one can key in any word in the serach engines, wikipedia, yahoo answers etc and a whole long lists of answers, information, etc etc comes appearing.

The challenge now rests really on the writer rather than the reader. Would he/she gets the traffic needed to sent his/her message down to the readers, and most importantly whats his/her message....is it reliable? trustworthy? or just plain brain washing.

As writers ponders along the ones with the means in money gets to hosts blogs, websites etc and the techie gets to use all necessary tools to direct trafiic to them thus creating a steady drive to their writings and have won half the battle. Whilst the rest believing themselves to have more reliable opinions gets stranded.

One writes from a pure understanding of what they perceived through their experiences solely in their context...while some are objectively enough most are driven by their subjectivity. The question is who plays God here?......Freedom of writing and giving opinions have often been abused and have resulted in much harm. No doubt again the benefits outweighs anything else.....but there are definitely obvious inclinations both of readers and writers alike to capture the thoughts of what they opine or wishes someone to have opined the same.

Writing and reading now has becoming a sort of tribal formings...with the readers aligning themselves to writers of the same "mind". It is seriously serious when one thinks that the aligning begins with one being able to aligned as such since the writers had the means of promoting its writing.

Opinions are free and yet decision demands a payment of sorts. So again and again writers should have a sense of utmost respect for the world at large and should opine fairly in whatever situations. They shall and will not be a God playing role in readinga nd writing on the Internet.........as such we can only pray that responsibility carries itself to any writers and readers alike.

As one walks in a bookstore or library, one is left with a choice....................such choice should be practised wisely.........and unlike the publisher of a book controlling what gets published, the internet is without this tool.............thw who cares attitudes of the writer should always be checked.

Lets hope the world gets closer to each other and not be differentiate more and more by the writers and readers alike
