P90X is worth the money if you can honestly commit to using it regularly - But really, any weight loss or fitness program is worth the money if the purchaser can truly commit to using it on a regular basis. As a weight loss tool, P90X is absolutely worth the money, so long as the user is willing to seriously change their eating and drinking habits, as well as engage in the P90X workouts.
P90X is worth the money for those who will enjoy the workouts - The bottom line to any weight loss or fitness program being worth the money comes down to whether or not the user enjoys the workouts. Personally, I've never enjoyed a fitness program more than I enjoy P90X. The system is varied, and the workouts are fun without being silly (I used to use Turbo Jam, which I liked to some degree, but it always felt so silly). For me, P90X has been totally worth the money because I can engage in the workouts without feeling overly self-conscious because of silly dance-like moves (which I am entirely too uncoordinated for), or ridiculous music playing in the background.
P90X is worth the money if you prefer a video workout - Understandably, some individuals will not want to work out to a video. My husband, for instance, likes to work out with nothing more than a stereo. He does not want to follow along with a recorded workout. Personally though, I really appreciate being able to have visual guidance in my workouts, because I prefer not to have to think to much about what to do next. So, for those like me, who prefer to follow along to a fitness video, P90X is worth the money. It isn't difficult to follow along, and unlike other video weight loss fitness programs, the instructor isn't annoying. He keeps to the point, and verbally guides viewers into proper execution of each exercise. Sometimes the instructor stops exercising in order to walk to another person in the video and discuss certain elements of the exercise, but it's easy to view those participants and continue to follow along.
P90X is worth the money if you are able to use it - P90X is marketed as a fitness system for those who are not terribly out of shape already. However, I have been able to keep up really well, despite the fact that I have goals of both significant weight loss (more than 20 lbs.), as well as muscle toning. P90X has been very much worth the money to me because I have been able to follow along even though I was not in excellent shape when I started out. However, there is a fitness test that you are told to use as a guide as to whether or not to use P90X. The fitness test reminded me of those we all had to participate in during our years in junior high school.
Weight loss and muscle shaping are not easy tasks to accomplish. There are many weight loss and fitness programs that might be effective for anyone they are suited to. P90X, is a great weight loss tool for anyone who is serious about using it on a regular basis. You may find that weight loss is easier to accomplish with P90X than other fitness systems simply because the workouts are varied, simple, and well demonstrated. There is nothing magical about P90X, but the workouts are easy to follow, and the presentation is down-to-earth. If these elements appeal to you, than P90X will likely seem worth the money.
