Ryan Buell, the leader of A&E's Paranormal State has a new book called "Paranormal State: My Journey into the Unknown." In it, he makes some interesting disclosures. It turns out that he's bisexual. Entertainment Weekly released the story in September, and the book was released on September 21.

Paranormal State is a hit show in A&E and is set to launch season number 5 soon. It centers on a paranormal investigation group started at Penn State University and led by Ryan Buell. I've previously written about Sergey Poberezhny, Paranormal State's Tech Guy.

While the show isn't scripted, it's set up in a way to encourage conflict and the potential for possible romantic relationships. However, these relationships never materialized. It turns out now that one reason may be that Ryan wasn't interested in the female cast members, one of which producers were hoping would turn into something more serious.

Ryan Buell is a a self-professed Roman Catholic and has said that one reason he has come out with the book and is talking about his bisexuality is to show that it's okay to be religious and bisexual or homosexual. He wants others to know that these feelings shouldn't be mutually exclusive.

While this disclosure is new for many viewers of Paranormal State, Ryan's sexuality apparently was well known in the paranormal research community. It will be interesting to see what the story lines will be for the 29 year old in this upcoming season, especially involving the pyschic Chip Coffey.
