Is Permanent Makeup Right for Me?

Erin Morris
Many women, as they get older, find it more and more difficult to apply makeup on a daily basis. The application of permanent cosmetics is a cosmetic procedure that has become a popular alternative to conventional makeup.

There are many women that have trouble applying their makeup because they suffer from poor hand-eye coordination, skin disorders, poor eyesight or allergies to cosmetic products. Nowadays many women are even getting permanent cosmetics because they just don't have enough time in the day to apply makeup.

The origin of permanent cosmetics dates back all the way to the start of the 20th century though many women concealed the fact that they'd undergone the procedure back in those days. It eventually became fashionable in the 1920's and women have been utilizing this amazing procedure ever since.

The permanent cosmetic procedure is very similar to the application of a permanent tattoo. Fine needles are used to permanently inject the cosmetic pigment into the skin. When the procedure is done, women will have permanent makeup that will last for several years. Sunlight and other natural elements can cause the cosmetic pigment to fade over time (just like a regular tattoo), so women may require repeat procedures every few years in order to keep the makeup looking its best.

So you ask: where can I get permanent makeup? Women are most commonly treated for eyeliner and eyelash enhancement, eyebrow definition, lip liner and lip color procedures. When you visit your local permanent cosmetics provider, you'll be able to choose from an array of colors and designs.

There are several different reasons why women would choose to undergo this procedure. Many women, due to old age or disease such as alopecia, chemotherapy or genetic disturbances, have lost the hair in the eyebrow area. Permanent cosmetics can help to restore natural looking eyebrows in order to enhance your features. Others are simply looking to add enhancement permanently whether it be through permanent eyeliner, eye shadow or lip color.

Those that cannot properly apply their makeup on a daily basis, due either to the inability to do so or simply the fact that there isn't enough time, can now have perfect makeup 24/7. This procedure is a fantastic way to achieve a younger, fresher appearance permanently.

This is a very informative piece. I've never been a fan of cosmetic tattooing but to each their own.

I've heard of this but never thought about actually having it done. I don't wear much makeup, just a bit of eyeliner and mascara so I don't think it would be right for me. good tips and info here.
