Is Pittsburgh Steelers Safety Troy Polamalu's Hair Really Worth $1 Million Insurance Policy?

Head & Shoulders Requested a $1 Million Insurance Policy on Troy Polamalu's Hair

Troy Polamalu's hair is worth $1 million...at least that's what Head & Shoulders asked him to insure it for. Lloyds of London has insured Polamalu's hair for the specified amount, after request from the shampoo brand.

Those who know and love the Pittsburgh Steelers know that Troy Polamalu hasn't cut his hair since joining the team in 2003...that's 7 years without a haircut! Not only has he saved a lot of money by not heading to the barber shop, he's also made a lot of money via endorsements from Head & Shoulders.

The NFL safety's locks are now a whopping three feet long, and the 29 year old has been quoted as saying "Head & Shoulders has gone above and beyond by insuring my Samoan locks for a cool $1 million dollars. This reinforces that my full and thick hair is unstoppable."

The Steelers are going to need Polamalu's long locks for good luck! Unless a Friday meeting between Roger Goodell (NFL Commissioner) and "Big Ben" Roethlisberger goes well, the Steelers will be without their star quarterback for at least the first four games of the season.

Ben is serving a suspension for violations of conduct policies. He was accused of sexual misconduct by a Georgian co-ed, and although he didn't face criminal charges he faced the wrath of the NFL.

Troy Palamalu thinks that his hair...and the team's backup quarterbacks...will do just fine without Roethlisberger. He's been quoted as saying "It's adversity that we're going to face, but it's nothing we haven't faced before. We've played games without Ben. Honestly, I think we've done well in the past with our backup quarterbacks."

Palamalu isn't the only one with expensive locks. Socialite Paris Hilton was recently served with a multimillion dollar suit for wearing the "wrong" extensions in her hair. The validity of the suit and the odds that she will have to pay big aren't certain yet.
