Is the PlayStation 3 Really Worth the Money?

The PlayStation 3 is an Extremely Expensive Toy, but is the Gaming System Actually Worth Getting Right Now

When the PlayStation 3 first came, you were lucky if you could find one in stores, or buy it for the actual retail price. During that time the PlayStation reached prices in the thousands on eBay, with people actually paying those prices. Now that the whole craze has calmed down, and all the hardcore fans has there's, is it worth it for the average person to buy one. I personally would love to have one, but the money for a system is just outrageous.

Like I said before you could definitely find a PlayStation 3 in stores right now for around 600 bucks. That is a lot of money, but to some people it is worth it. You do have the ability to play PlayStation 1 and 2 games on it, but if that is all you're going to be getting it for then forget it. There are PS3 games out but they run ten dollars higher then originally PS2 games. If you feel that you are ready to dish out the extra money for games, and have enough for the actual system, then I would say go for it.

The PlayStation 3 has many different features, which are the reason for its extremely high price. The first, and probably the most important feature is the Blu-Ray DVD drive. This drive is designed to run games in the sharpest high definition. This type of equipment can normally run in the thousands of dollars, so if you are planning on using this technology to the max, the PlayStation might be a steal for you. The PlayStation also gives you the ability to broadcast on two different televisions. With this you could do a lot of different things. You could create a panoramic view on the two televisions, or do many different things. Another new feature of the PlayStation 3 is standard wireless controllers. You would get wireless controllers for the PlayStation 2; however they were not the actual controller. With the PS3 you actually get to use an actual PlayStation controller that is wireless.

The PlayStation 3 is packed with many different features which give it its incredibly high price. There is a Blu-Ray DVD drive, designed to project an extremely sharp high definition display. The PS3 is also backward compatible meaning you can play any other PlayStation game. If you feel that you are ready to dish out the 600 dollars for a system, and the 10 dollar upgrade from PlayStation 2 then I would recommend getting this piece of equipment. The technology in the system is extremely under priced, and way ahead of itself. The PlayStation 3 can be a great steal for those who are willing to use it right.
