Many clinics have been giving out yearly flu shots. You can get flu shots at Walgreen's, Walmart and just about any place that attracts public traffic. Most flu shots are rather inexpensive and some or even offered for free. Many businesses and corporations know the value of flu shots and often offer them to their employees. However, a person needs to be aware of where germs can easily be picked up. This article examines some of those locations. When it comes to avoiding germs, being pro-active is very important.

Germ Locations; Most of use common sense when it comes to fighting germs. We wash our hands ( a lot). We use our elbow and arm area, when we sneeze or cough. Still, there are places that we need to consider in resisting germs.

The computer keyboard can hold cold and flu germs up to 48 hours. Keyboards at work can be used by many individual workers. They cough and sneeze without realizing that they could be spreading germs.

Gas pump handles are very high with the spreading of germs. Even if you are wearing winter gloves, you can pick up germs. You remove your gloves with the other bare hand.

Cellphones and land-phones easily spread germs. You can brush your teeth and use mouthwash and still spread germs. Individuals talk into phones and the germs hang on to the handle and mouth piece.

Door knobs are another place. People think twice in public restrooms about using the door knob or push panel. Exterior knobs carry just as many germs as interior knobs.

Grocery carts are another place to pick up germs. Carts are used by everybody. They can easily spread cold and flu germs.

Kitchen counters and counters in fast-food restaurants can also carry germs. Many fast-food restaurants will use an antibacterial detergent, when cleaning tables and counters.

Can Germs be avoided? The answer is "NO". However, being pro-active and thinking about where germs can be picked up can be helpful. The same is true, by being a responsible individual when you are sick. Stay home, wash your hands using antibacterial soap, seek medical help, drink lots of liquids, get a lot of extra sleep and use germ spreading preventive measures.

Nobody wants to get sick or cause others to get sick. Being pro-active can go a long way in avoiding colds and flu.
