Is it Possible to Live a Worry Free Life?

Wouldn't it be nice if we could live a worry free life? In today's world this is not an easy thing to do. The economy is a mess and people are losing jobs left and right. There are floods and crazy weather patterns all over. No matter where you live, crime is rampant. I could go on and on naming more problems. The sad part is that things are not going to get better, but only worse as time goes on. So, is it possible to live a worry free life with all this going on?

As a believer in Jesus Christ, I would say that it is possible. I cannot say that I do not have concerns at times or that certain things do not bother me. After all, we all live in this same world and we all are human.

For the believer in Christ, we are reminded in God's Word, the Holy Bible that this world is not our home. We are only here for a certain time until Jesus returns to take us to heaven. Jesus tells us in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." Also in the Bible, Jesus invites us to cast all of our cares and problems on Him. I Peter 5:7 says, "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." (New International Version) We all deal with cares and anxiety each day of our lives no matter who you are. This verse is a great comfort during these horrible times that we are living in.

Not too long ago, I thought that I was going to be laid off from work in a few months. While I was a little sad to hear this, I did not fear the outcome. In the past, God has always and will continue to provide for His children. If my company was going to go under, then I believed that God would provide another job. Philippians 4:19 says, "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." (English Standard Version) I feel that if I cannot trust God, that I am displeasing Him. He cannot and will not go against His Word.

I am still single and I am a member of some online dating websites. I do not know how, when or where I will meet my future mate. All I know is that God has everything under control in every area of my life including this. He is powerful enough to bring the right person into my life at His right time. I don't have to worry about being at every church or town event hoping that I will run into my mate. The Bible says that He makes everything beautiful in His time.

If you tend to worry about everything and you are a believer in Christ, let these Scripture verses be a comfort to you today. Remember, God will never fail you. He loves His people and will see that every need is met until we leave this earth. What greater assurance can we have than this?
