This is the basic rule to succeed in losing weight:
For example, if you take 2000 calories a day and you burn in 2500, you will lose weight.
One might think then it would suffice to significantly reduce their intake of calories, so you do not need to burn as much to lose weight.
Unfortunately if this is true, you would die of hunger, and it would not be very good for your plan. With this strategy, you will become increasingly hungry and you eat more, which is not the intention.
Your body needs food and calories for energy recovery. You should eat enough so as not to be taken large cravings and simultaneously be able to burn those calories plus some others energy sources. On the other hand, if you burn the exact amount of calories you absorb, you will remain the same.
The secret to losing weight without being hungry is to choose the right food. You must choose food that is low in calories but can satisfy your stomach to avoid hunger. The way you eat affects your weight. A very interesting study which was made in New Zealand at the University of Auckland in 1999, explains how eating affects our weight.
The researchers divided the participants into 3 groups male. Each group followed a diet with a different fat (60%, 40% or 20% of fat per day) percentage but no limits on calories were imposed. They could eat as much food as they wanted.
Of course, men who followed the diet with 20% fat have lost weight because they absorbed few calories. Fats contain 9 calories per gram instead of 4 calories per gram with carbohydrates and proteins.
In short, if the food contains more fat, it provides more calories. Despite the low amount of calories, men of this group (20% of fat) were not hungry.
Researchers have discovered that they compensate for the lack of dietary calories unconsciously, choosing food heavier than those chosen by men from other groups with "more fat". As against, they were not hungry.
This proves that the weight of food you take plays a stronger role as fat and calories satisfy your stomach.
Thus, to be satisfied, you do not need eat food that contain lots of calories or fat. Your stomach instead needs to feel the weight of food.
Research has shown that people tend to eat every day about the same amount of food, without taking into account the fat and calories that these foods contain.
The solution to lose weight without being hungry, is to continue to take the same amount of food by lowering fat and calories it contains.
That is why the act of drinking a glass of water or a bowl of soup before eating cuts hunger. This also explains why people can follow a diet with little fat and regain weight if the majority of their food choice is based on bad food that are rich in calories and low in fiber.
