Is the Post Office open on Veterans Day? Is there mail on Veterans Day? What's up with Veterans Day closings? Are all questions that people are asking now and with good reasons. Veterans Day is a federal holiday, however many places of business are still open.

That brings us to the pesky Post Office problem. Is the Post Office open on Veterans Day? That depends. Are you going to the Post Office to pick up your mail out of your PO Box? Or are you going to the Post Office to buy stamps?

Post Office retail windows are CLOSED on Veterans Day. However, if you need to get your mail out of your PO Box, you should be able to. Furthermore, if you are lucky enough to have a self-help kiosk in your Post Office, chances are you can still buy stamps even though the Post Office is closed.

Is there mail on Veterans Day? Only if you are picking up your PO Box mail - but note that nothing was distributed this morning. The Post Office is closed.

That doesn't mean that you shouldn't whip out your pen and paper and write a quick thank you to a Veteran. After all, Veterans appreciate our appreciation any day of the year - not just on Veterans Day.

If you need to get a message out pronto, head online. The internet and email never closes - even on the holidays. If you forgot to send out a birthday card, head online and send some flowers or an e-certificate to whomever you choose.

While you are searching for Veterans Day questions and answers, don't forget about Black Friday! Black Friday 2009 is coming up quick and Black Friday 2009 ads are already rolling out. Even though the mail won't be delivered today, head online to see if you can find the latest leaked Black Friday ads. Think of all the money you can save!

Now that we have the Veterans Day mail questions sorted out, let's move on to a discussion about Veterans Day. According to TechBanyan, Veterans Day was first declared a Holiday in 1938. Today is a day we honor some 25 million Veterans as well as our active duty military personnel.

There are many deals to be had this Veterans Day for military personnel, including free meals and lots of discounts. Be sure to head online and find your deals - especially if you are a service man or woman.
