Is Race a Factor in Internet Child Predators?
To Catch a Predator is Not Catching African Americans
African Americans are stereotyped as being more likely to commit crime. Forty-four percent of the incarcerated population is black, although African Americans only make up twelve percent of the United States population, according to the United States Department of Justice. Knowing this information, it may seem odd to some that Dateline is not catching African American men in their sting operations.
Why then, are we not seeing more black men on the To Catch a Predator series? I have four theories to answer this question. I would love to hear your thoughts as well, so please feel free to leave any thoughts in the comments section below.
First Theory:
Dateline is setting up their sting operations in areas that have an unusually low population of African Americans.
Since the men featured on the program must physically arrive at the location, if the area has an uncharacteristic low percentage of black population, then it would follow that few African Americans would arrive. I have contacted Dateline to question this theory, but have not yet heard back from them.
Second Theory
Perverted Justice Workers Are Only Posing as White Males Or Females.
If the only white male and female adult actors are hired to pose as the adolescent girls and boys, Perverted Justice may only claim to be white when talking online with potential predators. Is it possible that black adults would be more likely to target members of their own race, thus making them less likely to fall into Dateline's "trap?"
Third Theory
Black Men Are Less Likely to Use the Internet for Socializing.
Perhaps black men are not using the internet as much as their white counterparts or maybe they are not using the chat rooms or other socializing features of the internet. If black men are not socializing in chat rooms, then it would be logical that they would not be caught up in Dateline's To Catch a Predator.
Forth Theory
Black Men are Not Sickos.
If the other three theories are not true, maybe it is possible that adult black men choose not to have sex with adolescent girls and boys. Is it possible that they have stronger morals in an area that other races seem to be lacking in?

When these figures are adjusted on a per capita basis, they reveal an extraordinary disparity: blacks are committing more than 50 times the violent racial crimes of whites.

"To Catch A Predator" is no longer on the air, but you can still get your daily share of white child predators on your local, national and cable news channels.
ha ha ha, hmmm. I don't recall being robbed by a white male, or assaulted by a white male, they were either black or Latino males, and when I look at the only database for sexual predators, there appears to be a large population of blacks and latinos. I don't know, are white the blame for everything in the world, we will see once the economy collapse, and who's left standing with 90% of the Nations private gun collections. See you soon.
Most black men are not going to spend time chatting back & forth to have sex with someone. They can meet someone in person and do that. And most child predators are usually white men.

Your statistics do not match. On the one hand, you are talking about sexual predators. On the other hand, you are looking at statistics for all crimes and the percentage of black people being incarcerated. To even have a semi-meaningful discussion, you will need to dig up the statistics for the percentage of rapists and child molesters covicted that are black.
The reason that To catch a predator does not have a lot of african americans is because most child molesters are white.I am sorry that you are disappointed that only white guys are showing it up must be lonley at the top.
