An example of a race focused school would be the one, that is currently not yet available to the race, but is in the process of being one. You may have heard it, in Canada, that someone or a group of people are trying to get a race focused school for the black open. Now, some may think that it is a good idea while some may say it isn't. Overall, it is a bad choice, here is why...
Race focused schools will segregate the race from others.
By making a race focused school, one will segregate or separate this certain race from the others. Is this good? Of course not! The person might not feel comfortable with other races, might even become racist towards them. They will not have any multicultural values. They will only learn to speak with their 'own kind' and may even think that it is a bad thing to speak to others that aren't of their own race. Have we not been taught to be multicultural? Race focused schools is the entire opposite of what the people in North America want. The people want to be piece of the puzzle that forms North America. And not a hole different puzzle to itself.
Race focused schools will make people forget equality.
Another thing that may happen if a race focused school opens is the means for thinking that this race is a higher and mightier race JUST BECAUSE they have their own school and not another. This may also lead to multiple different race focused schools opening just because of this. If one opens, why not more? We want equality, don't we?
Another perspective for equality and this subject is the fact that some may think that nobody is better than their own race to teach them. Everyone is a horrible teacher and only one of the same race can understand how their knowledge builds up and how boys and girls who are from the same race, learn.
Race focused schools make many more race focused schools.
By opening one raced focused school, we are saying that: 'Yes, it is alright for a certain race to have their own school.' Which will lead to many incidents, one being that others will want their own race focused schools, and only for their races. This will only turn the 'North America puzzle' into multiple different puzzles, that are their own, and nobody else.
Money.
Of the many things that have been said, one of the main concerns for race focused schools has to be money. It will cost much more money to hire teachers, to get the appropriate books and to build a new school for individual races. This may lead to a tax rise or perhaps 'donations' from the government.
This does not mean that it is bad to have race focused schools, but rather it is not a right choice to make. It will only lead to more, more money and many more race focused schools. And what will happen to those that are 'mixed' or neither of these, will they lose their chance at an 'exclusive' school? Many faults can be found from deciding on making a race focused school. Many people may ask: 'Why race focused? Isn't catholic schools a 'race' focused school?' But races and religions are completely different. Races are not as important to people as religions are. The color of the skin does not matter, aren't we all equal?
