Is She Beautiful?

Rebecca Bardelli
What do you see when you look at me?
Do you see in black and white,
or add color of delight?
Do you look beyond what your eyes can see?
Do you take the time,
to open your mind,
or are you narrow minded,
perceiving only what you want to see?
Not letting others be free,
who they are and what they are meant to be.
Do you accept their flaws because you have them too,
or are you to shallow, immature or naive,
to really grasp or perceive?
Is the swan pure because she is tall and white as snow,
making every other creature fall below?
Doth she cast a spell,
on unsuspecting souls,
with skillful trickery and blazing coals?
Could the swan be the devil in disguise,
could you tell by staring into her eyes?
How would you paint the canvas,
would it be the same as mine?
Everyone would paint it differently,
making it one of a kind.
You see, beauty doesn't fit a mold,
yet lies in the eye of the beholder.
We all paint a canvas every day,
as our day unfolds,
and people come our way,
we see in a shade a little different than the rest,
because we are all incomparable,
which makes us our own best.
Just keep in mind that perception,
could result in your own deception.

Print the picture and color it to your delight.
Choose a colored pencil, a marker, crayon or paint.
There is no wrong or no right,
so long as it is beautiful to your sight.

You've done it again young lady. Nice job! It is true, not one of us is perfect. Can we love others the way we want and expect to be loved?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I know a lot of beautiful people who wouldn't pass as pretty. The outward prettyness can cover a lot of ulgy scars inside.
