In the dating world, determining if a girl is interested can be difficult enough, but sometimes men get confused with the differences of playing hard and not being interested. The dating rules in the digital world have changed considerably. We now send flirty texts, emails, and even Facebook messages to gain the attention of our current romantic interest, however, these cutesy messages often are misconstrued by both sexes. Men, in this article we will examine the differences of a woman playing hard to get vs. a woman who is just not interested.

1. She volley texts with you all day

Volley texting is when you send repeated texts to the same person on a regular basis and usually get instant responses. Since texting has become a new way of flirting in the technology era, figuring out if the constant texts are being sent because she is bored or if she has a genuine interest can be difficult. To determine if the texts are flirtatious, read them in context. If the texts are meaningful and personal than chances are she is trying to connect, but if they are simple replies from your texts, she may just be responding in order to be nice.

2. She doesn't want to hang out all the time

When girls are playing hard to get they know that if they give you their full attention then you will likely get bored quickly. Girls that play hard to get will choose their friends over you on many circumstances, but this doesn't mean she isn't interested. To find out if she truly has feelings make a bona fide date with her and see if she keeps it. In the dating world, if you have romantic feelings towards the other person you will do whatever it takes to keep the date, or reschedule it if the time conflicts with another previous commitment.

3. You ask her

If you are, on the fence about whether or not she has feelings for you or not, you can ask. Asking how she feels is a great way to gain trust and show your self-confidence in the situation. You will get a definite answer, and the talk that ensues afterwards is excellent for determining how likely you two are for long-term commitment. From my personal experience, I always ask if she is playing hard to get or is not interested; it not only takes away tension and unnerving feelings, but also helps put your wandering mind to rest.

4. She avoids your phone calls

Phone call avoidance is one of the toughest signs of whether she is playing hard to get or if she is interested. Some people would rather text or instant message as opposed to talking on the phone, or would rather have a face-to-face conversation. If she avoids your phone calls, that does not necessary mean that she is not interested, instead she may not feel comfortable with long phone conversations.

5. She doesn't respond in any form of communication for an extended period of time

It is often hard to imagine that with the advent of smart phones that your love interest will take hours to respond to your text message or email. However, she may be busy, or does not want to come across as needy. If she takes a long time to respond to your messages, it may mean nothing more than she just did not have a suitable response at the time, and she thought about what you said to her. In this case, the responses typically mean more because it means she is thinking about you.
