Is the Skinny Switch Secret Simply Just a Calorie Shifting Diet?

Tiffany Bell
Wouldn't you love to be able to simply turn on your skinny switch and lose the extra weight that you have been carrying around? Well, that is what fitness and nutrition expert Rob Nevins promises you can do with his Skinny Switch Secret.

You may have seen the Skinny Switch Secret infomercial while flipping through channels and it caught your attention. Who wouldn't want to be able to eat all that good food and still lose weight without having to exercise? The diet claims that you can eat the foods that you love, never plateau, and turn your body into a fat burning machine. All that and you are encouraged to cheat on your diet every 3 days, which Rob calls "treating." Does all this sound too good to be true?

Calorie shifting diets have been around for quite some time. In essence, the Skinny Switch Secret is simple calorie shifting for weight loss. Calorie shifting diets were originally developed by doctors to help a patient lose weight quickly when medical intervention was needed. The general public got a hold of what the doctors were doing with these diets and thus programs like Skinny Switch Secret were born.

Calorie Shifting Explained

Calorie shifting for weight loss involves specific recipes and foods that you eat based on what day it is. You eat meals that are different caloric amounts so that you basically trick your body and it never gets used to what you are eating. This is supposed to speed up your metabolism so that you constantly burn calories and fat and you can even eat foods that may not seem like they belong on a diet.

With Rob Nevins' Skinny Switch Secret program, every third day you are to treat yourself so that you not only get something you may be craving but you also trick your body and not allow it to get used to the diet. So, if you are a glutton for ice cream, you can have a bowl of ice cream every three days on the diet.

So, what makes the Skinny Switch any different from the many different calorie shifting diets that you can find online for free? Nothing really, except that you get a personalized menu for you and access to help from Rob Nevins and his workers.

The Trouble with Calorie Shifting and the Skinny Switch Secret

Although calorie shifting sounds too good to be true, it can work for weight loss if you are the right type of person. For many dieters, a "treat day" can be taken too far. How many times have you said that you were going to treat yourself to a piece of cake while on a diet and ended up eating two pieces of cake, a bowl of ice cream, and two slices of pizza. Calorie shifting is not for people who tend to over treat themselves as that just makes you have to start over every three days.

For the person who does have some self-control and can only have one treat every three days, calorie shifting may be something for you to look into. Although calorie shifting for weight loss may be an interesting concept, it is up to you whether or not you want to spend hundreds of dollars on Rob Nevins's Skinny Switch Secret when there is free calorie shifting advice and plans available online.
