Snapple Tea is Fairly High in Calories
If you are a calorie counter, then you should think twice before drinking Snapple tea. Like everything else, it is not all that low in calories. In fact, you may find it to be quite high in calories. In many cases, it will be as high as lemonade or soda, which are both known to be high in calories.
Snapple Tea Contains High Levels of Sugar
If you already experience problems with your blood sugar levels, it may be a good idea for you to avoid Snapple tea. Unfortunately, the teas that Snapple has to offer contain high levels of sugar. Most of their teas contain more than 50 grams of sugar. Compare this to the 39 grams that can be found in a 12 oz Coca Cola. If you avoid drinking soda because of the sugar, then you will also probably want to stay away from Snapple tea.
Snapple Contains Levels of Carbohydrates
Much like other beverages and foods, Snapple tea does contain levels of carbohydrates. If you think that you are getting away scotch free of carbohydrates by drinking tea, then Snapple is probably not the best choice for you. In some cases you may also find that the amount of carbohydrates n Snapple tea is just as high, if not higher, than the amounts of carbohydrates in certain types of sodas.
Snapple Tea Also Contains Aspartame
Aspartame, the artificial sweetener that can be found in many diet options, can also be found in Snapple tea products. Whether or not aspartame and other artificial sweeteners actually cause health implications is an ongoing debate. If you avoid consuming products that you know consume Aspartame, it is also a good idea for you to avoid Snapple tea as well.
Just because Snapple tea does contain a high amount of sugars, carbohydrates and aspartame does not necessarily mean that you should give it up all together, assuming that you do not want to. Do keep in mind that Snapple tea is known to contain amounts of Vitamin B and Ginseng. Aside from the flavors that you are probably used to, Snapple does offer a variety of green tea options, as well as Diet options. It is likely that you will find that both of these choices will contain less sugar and carbohydrates, which will make it healthier for you. Snapple also offers fruit drinks. These may sound like healthier alternatives. However, they are also quite high in calories and carbohydrates.
