Is Telemarketing a Great Way to Make Money?

Numerous Advantages Exist for Many

Marty K.
Telemarketing is a field into which people can enter quickly, with a basic amount of communication skill. Individuals can often avoid a lengthy, grueling application and interview process.

I'm referring to a legitimate job, one that pays reasonably well and usually includes benefits.

The procedure can take place as follows: Filling out a simple application, getting an interview right away, being hired on the spot, going for drug testing the same or next day and going to orientation/training shortly thereafter.

Although most companies do the usual background checks, they will often hire people first and then do the research.

How can you beat it if you need to earn some money and get into employment quickly?

This is a job that does not require a lot of physical exertion, or being on one's feet all day. It is well suited for people with physical problems and seniors are usually very welcome.

What are the different sorts of telemarketing?

There are various types of telemarketing, including sales, customer service, collections, political calling and others. The standard work environment for telemarketing is what is known as a "call center," although work-at-home opportunities exist, as well.

There are two types of calls that exist within telemarketing: inbound and outbound. Collections and political calls tend to be outbound, whereas most customer service calls are inbound. Sales are largely outbound, but can be inbound, as well.

Which type of telemarketing is the best?

It mostly has to do with personal preference.

Some people do not like doing sales, but this is actually what I prefer, and here is why:

Selling provides an unlimited opportunity for earning potential. One should be able to receive a salary combined with commission, plus a benefit package. To me, this is more interesting, challenging and rewarding, as opposed to an occupation that is limited by a fixed payment only. It is somewhat similar to being in business and there is an opportunity and motivation to achieve.

How does telemarketing work?

In regard to sales telemarketing, a script is usually followed, combined with an ability to add enthusiasm or personalization. Many companies have separate closers, often known as "T.O.'s." These people can help tremendously in the selling process.

Some work stations have computers with automatic dialers, and basic training for this will be provided. Others have a more basic telephone system. Usually, there will be a process to take credit card payments that will be utilized by either the agent or the closer.

How can a I find a telemarketing job and a nice company?

Look in local classified ad sections under "telemarketing" or the specific area in which you're interested. For example, many telemarketing jobs could be listed under "sales" or "customer service." Do some research about the company and check to make sure that their customers are satisfied with the product being sold and are being treated well. This can be researched online.

If you would like to get into a home-based telemarketing opportunity, this can also be researched on the Internet. Be certain, however, that you're extra careful and don't pay anything to anyone in order to join.

Word of mouth is a great way of finding the best companies in your community. Try to ask around and find out which companies are the most favored.
