The City of Buffalo might be excited about having Terrell Owens catching touchdown passes and giving their hometown Buffalo Bills a much needed jolt of energy, but apparently they aren't that fond of the thought of him living right next door. According to the article, Buffalo's Orchard Park neighborhood denied Owens the opportunity to rent a home citing the "drama" that he might bring to the neighborhood.
Why in the world would they think that Terrell Owens might bring drama to their neighborhood? Could it be because they heard about Owens' alleged suicide attempt back in 2006 that brought emergency medical personnel and a media frenzy to his home in the middle of the night? Or perhaps it's because they recalled the time that Owens held a press conference in his front lawn after being suspended by the Philadelphia Eagles back in 2005?
The good thing for Terrell Owens is that he does have several other choices to lay his head if need be. He is reported to have homes in Miami, Atlanta, Dallas and Moorestown, N.J. Owens is certainly hoping that he will be able to add Buffalo to that list as well. Nevertheless, the question remains, even if he gets the chance to call Buffalo home, for how long will that be?
The Buffalo Bills surely knew what they were getting when they brought T.O. in from Dallas earlier this year. They were getting a high-profile player that could make a difference on the field. But it seems that, at least for right now, Owens is going to have to improve his image off the field if he really ever plans on "staying" in Buffalo.
