Is There Going to Be a Second Season of Superjail?

If you don't know about Superjail! by now, you need to start watching some Adult Swim. This animated television series is among one of the most unique shows on television to date. The animation is extremely bloody and gory, so if this is not for you I suggest you go watch Moral Oral or something, just kidding, that show sucks. I will give you a brief overview of Superjail! and maybe it will motivate you to check out one of the most unique and refreshing cartoons on television to date.

A majority of the show takes place in this super jail, if you will, which holds some of the world's most dangerous criminals. Every episode begins with Jacknife getting captured in some twisted manner and being brought back to the jail. He somehow managers to escape from the super jail time and time again, without dying I might add which is quite a feat because at least one hundred other inmates are seen being killed every episode.

The jail is run by The Warden, who honestly kind of looks a little bit like Willy Wonka. He is all over the place and always very hyper, usually bouncing off the walls scene to scene. This seems to make the jail accountant Jared very nervous at all times. Jared is seen sweating his big face off and trembling in every scene where The Warden is talking to him. Jared's voice kind of gets on my nerves because I think it is a little over the top, I find myself wanting Jared to "just chill" so I can just enjoy the rest of the twisted show. However, the Warden seems to have a soft spot for Alice, and extremely buff female security guard. I am pretty sure this character is a transsexual, either that or a super disgusting chick with huge muscles, a nice bulge in the pants, and a little bit of facial hair to top it all off. Sexy. The super jail is well guarded by a floating robot appropriately named Jailbot. Jailbot is one of the best parts of the show, sort of like Optimus Prime in that he has a wide variety of weapons he could choose to punish the inmates with. Jailbot can be seen in every episode killing a few inmates to server as examples to the others. Other than being extremely protective of the jail, Jailbot does not speak or anything and simply displays a fixed emotion on his computerized face. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that the jail itself is literally built inside a volcano in the middle of the jungle somewhere. As you can see by the title picture... the volcano thet holds super jail is actually inside of another volcano. Why? I guess it's just funny that way.

So, we've seen the first season of 10 episodes plus a pilot. Is there going to be a second season of Superjail? When is season 2 of Superjail!

It has been confirmed by Adult Swim that the people that work on Superjail! are currently working on producing a season two, as of November, 2009. This means that we should expect to see season two of Superjail! early next year. I am highly anticipating this next season, and I recommend you check it out.
