Is There Rhyme and Reason?

Crime in South Africa

Deonils
Mandela was the magical man,
"Madiba" we called him endearingly
He had walked the walk of freedom
then wrote about his faith, surprisingly
and encouragingly to a jaded world

Today there is Jacob Zuma; Mbeki is gone
(the young lion who had a British education)
Who stirred the aids roots and shoots cauldron
Those who had hated justice gone wrong
welcomed Mandela outlawing execution
while his party had only fake discipline!

Infighting ... playing to the masses, to communists
and the trades unions had weakened the "Rand"
Investors come cautiously, with clenched fists
Were they in anger, or compulsion to defend
the Miracle and capitalism, without helping socialists?

The Lord is in charge, Archbishop Tutu said
during the worst days of apartheid - one of our best ...
God humbles us all, eventually, tails and heads
are turned like tables, until we honor God and Christ
In the way America's Founding Fathers sought in 1776 ...

Yet the crimes we visit upon each other continue anywheres
On every piece of this precious planet; be it understood:
Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done in all spheres --
Sometimes we see in the avarice for gold and food
That there is heavenly reason and rhyme, even in crime,
To nudge us away ... or toward, new heavens and new earths?
