Is There a Santa Clause?

Bubba
The age old question "Is there a Santa Claus?" has once again surfaced in many wee folks minds. Way back in September of 1897 Francis P. Church wrote an editorial in The New York Sun that has become a holiday tradition. If you Google "Is There a Santa Claus?" you can read the entire editorial. How does this play out in today's fast paced world? Do the internet savvy youngsters even care what an old man wrote 120 years ago?

Mr Church remarks the unbelievers "have been affected by the scepticism of a sceptical age." Is this still not true today? We have been assaulted with the "Christmas Sales" most years before the candles in the Jack-O-Lantern has been extinguished. The concept 'more is better' is the theme of many Holiday packages. Many families spending money they don't have to impress folks they don't like.

Hollywood is equally guilty of promoting the "Stuff" engorged Christmas. The Media has once again began promoting the negative impact on Christmas Sales the economy is gonna have this year. No thought to the folks that may not have food to eat or have a warm place to sleep. Here is how you will find the real Santa...

The real Santa and his baby brother Bubba can not be seen. You can only experience the Love, Generosity, and Devotion as if they were a Divne Inspiration. The real Santa is in the heart of every little one even if they have reached the ripe old age of 110. The real Santa is expressed in the folks that anonymously drop off whole turkeys and non perishable stuff to the Food Bank. The real Santa is revealed in the folks that fill the "Toys for Tot's" bins and the folks that drop more than their spare change in the Kettles of the "Salvation Army." The real Santa is who brings love to a lonely person in a nursing home. The real Santa will shout across a crowded street "Merry Christmas!" even if no one is listening. The real Santa and Bubba Claus remain anonymous in all their giving, perhaps that's why the Media doesn't know about them.

Yes today our world is facing a new economic and sceptical age. Yes there will be less under many Christmas trees and Hanukah bushes this year. Yes Virginia there is a Santa and a Bubba Claus. You can see them at work everyday if you watch closely. Yes Virginia there is a Santa and a Bubba Claus and will be for hundreds of thousands of years to come. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Lydia and Trey are beautiful children, and lucky that Bubba Claus is in their lives, and Bubba and Santa will fill their hearts. The reason for the season isn't stuff and more bigger presents, it's peace and joy and the greatest gift humanity has ever received. Wonderful!
