1. Your team has losing seasons consistently.
Let's face it, only one team will be completely happy when the football season is over. This is the team that is able to win the Super Bowl. Despite this fact, there will be many teams that are happy with the way their season went. Is this your team? If you are rooting for a team that is always losing things can get discouraging. Can you remember the last time your team had a winning season? Does your team end up picking in the top 10 in the draft, year after year? Depending on your answer you may want to begin evaluating weather or not you will continue rooting for this team.
2. Do you find yourself depressed or extremely frustrated during or after the game?
This is indeed a serious question. I have watched people go into rages of anger because their team turns the ball over or makes a bad play. I watch people sit in a total depressed state for hours after a game. It's one thing if your team loses but it is a different thing if you can't handle it. If you find yourself getting extremely angry or upset, perhaps it's time to think of another team. Life is too short to spend time depressed over a football game!
3. It's playoff time and you are not watching football at all. Does this sound like you?
Maybe you are even worse. Do you find yourself giving up on the season completely around week 12 or 13. If this is you it's time to find another team to root for. No true fan of football should just stop watching because your team is not in the playoffs. This is the most exciting time of the year. If you're not watching this is a sign of frustration because of your teams performance. It's time for you to find someone else to pull for. Every fan should be watching the most important games at the end of the year.
4. Have you been thinking about making a change?
Maybe their is another team that is local that is having more success. If you've been thinking about making the switch anyway, it's time to go through with it. Making the change will probably make you feel much better and who knows you may even see your team win. Start the change slowly by rooting for both teams and slowly transition over.
If you have found yourself depressed or extremely frustrated by a football game you need re-evaluate whether you should move on and root for someone else.
