Is it Time to Upgrade to Windows 7?

Looks like Vista with a different task bar and has the same features of Windows Vista yet Microsoft is calling it a new operating system called Windows 7, which came out this fall 3 years after the failed operating system called Vista. Now do you spend the money and upgrade or keep the operating system you have?

One of the main reasons to switch over to Windows 7 is if Windows Vista is your current operating system. Slow with too many annoying security pop-ups Windows Vista sold way below industry expectations. Microsoft realized their mistakes and tried to fixed them in Windows 7 by having open beta testing to gain re-grain the publics approval. Microsoft claimed that Windows 7 was faster than Vista and XP on older computers a change from Windows Vista when you needed to upgrade your system because Vista was such a memory hog. Test show that Windows 7 is indeed faster than Vista but not exactly faster than XP although Windows 7 is almost as fast.

Feature wise nothing major has been added features from Vista stayed including the annoying User Account Control. Despite staying User Account Control is actually less annoying you can change the security settings so it's not as annoying as it was in Vista. One of the best features that was added to Windows 7 is the homegroup if you have a lot of computers on a network or at work once set up it is easy to share files with workers and family members. It is also secured you can add a password to it and share basically anything you want with whoever you want.

Another cool feature is the task bar when you have more than one of the same program open you can point your mouse over it and see a preview of it before opening it. You can also change the colors of the taskbar. Another feature that was added was that you can now set it up so your wallpaper changes every few minutes. One feature that may seem missing is Windows Messenger, Windows Movie Maker, etc that is now a free download called Windows Live. It's a simple quick download in case you use any of those programs don't fret Microsoft didn't take it out. Now how does it run?

It's run great, flawless actually just be careful if your installing Windows 7 on your netbook you need to make sure your hard drive is fast enough to run it as long your netbook has one gig of ram your good to go. In short with all the security updates it's time to upgrade if your still running XP and for those who had compatibility problems when upgrading to Vista Windows 7 doesn't have any. For those who are running older programs Windows 7 comes with a virtual XP just make sure that your computer processor can handle it but most older programs will run on Windows 7 without a problem. It's time to switch to Windows 7 today.
