The hot debate over the cause of climate change stems mostly from scientists who don't seem as concerned about the truth as they are about proving their opposition wrong. You'd think they would put their heads together to come up with answers but they stand in opposite corners and pick apart each other's work. This is outright childishness. Climate change needs to be addressed right now if we are going to have any chance whatsoever of stopping it.
Previous worst case scenario trajectories predicted a sea level rise of 7 to 23 inches as we near the end of the century. However, new facts indicate that sea levels could rise higher and even sooner than previously thought. A number of scientists agree that if climate change is not addressed soon we could be experiencing an even greater increase in storms, flooding and drought, which could lead to worldwide catastrophes.
Poorer nations are the ones who will suffer the most as they are exceptionally susceptible to even the smallest levels of climate change. Climates around the world could change drastically from what we see today. Several regions could turn very cold or very hot very fast.
Poor countries are already struggling with serious clean water and food shortages while diseases for which there is no cure are traveling around the world before countries have a chance to close their borders. Earthquakes and tsunamis are not only becoming more frequent they are getting more intense and much more devastating.
The cause of climate change is important because if we knew what was causing it we could come to a quicker solution. Nevertheless, our scientists are spending more time debating the cause than addressing the problem.
Those who follow the 2012 prophecies have chimed in with their theories of the cause of climate change. Many of them believe the planetary alignment is influencing our climate because other planets are experiencing global warming and it is believed that as we near 2012, it will get much worse.
Nevertheless, the cause isn't as important as the solution and the longer we linger on the cause the worse our climate changes could become. We are letting our world go to hell in a hand basket. We've got more problems now than ever and arguing the cause is delaying the solution, allowing the problems to escalate.
Climate change has advanced to the point that it's now one of the world's greatest problems. Unrest is escalating worldwide and for the first time in history, war could actually come to our own shores. The economy isn't getting any better and people are becoming paranoid and cold-hearted.
Jesus Christ spoke of a future time when the nations would be filled with perplexity.
"And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars... and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places... there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth..." (Matt. 24, Mark 13, Luke 21)
Climate change needs to be addressed right now. We can work out the details later. Considering the rapid progress of climate change it looks like we are going to suffer stronger storms, colder winters and hotter summers.
