"What's happened to this lovable original "Oldies" TV channel called TV Land on cable and Direct TV that began on April 29, 1996 in TV Land?" It seems like now days they only play these continuous 12 rerun daily television shows like Mash, Roseanne, The Cosby Show, Goodtimes, Little House on the Prairie, Three's Company, Green Acres, Andy Griffith Show, All in the Family, Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Brady Bunch, I Love Lucy, over and over again?
Also? What's happened to some of their originally aired shows in 1996-1998 like? "Petticoat Junction, Hazel, Mr. Ed, and Gilligan's Island?" Were these famous historic TV shows somehow lost in a market research program regarding TV Land? WTBS here in Atlanta, Ga. seems to have the monopoly rights on "Seinfeld" and also the Hallmark channel seems to have all the rights to "Murder She Wrote".
"I do understand the quality of picture or photography during these older television shows is very poor?" But, most older viewers can visually memorize this problem and could think about what it was like to watch these old shows on a black and white television set and even in the 1970's with a colorful TV set? "Even modern young viewers of TV Land could say?" Mom or Dad their showing one of your old T.V. commercials on TV Land!" I think it's funny!" (Which TV Land producers should seriously think about?).
In other words, the quality of these particular shows or T.V commercials may be bad at times for modern television, especially these high definition TV's. "Older viewers will always remember what the original was like!" and somehow bring back thoughtful and happy memories. I guess it's kind of like listening to old "scratchy" 33 or 45 rpm record on your turntable? Most older people understand this problem, but "love it at the same time!" and will teach this to their younger children respect regarding old retro-commercials and TV shows.
The sci-fi channel in their younger years, eventually gave up the hit TV series like the "Incredible Hulk , Lost in Space, Battle-Star Galactic and also Land of the Giants, whenever they originally started and began making their very own movie-making over the years, which has proved to be successful versus the TV Land originally series called "Extreme Makeover" that has absolutely "Nothing to do with historic television programming for TV Land Viewers?"
"What about the historic TV shows like "McMillan and Wife, The Streets of San Francisco, Welcome Back Kotter, and Get Smart?" The TV Land channel should seriously think about their fans and could possibly show ALL of these television shows enclosed in this article over a 24 hour period just to see what everyone thinks and possibly take a website survey?"
