Is the New Victoria in the Eclipse Movie Going to Be as Good?

If you have seen Twilight and New Moon, then you probably already know that Victoria is the villain who is out to end the life of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart). Unfortunately, Rachelle Lefevre, who played Victoria in both Twilight and New Moon, is not going to be playing her in Eclipse.

For many fans, this change in actresses for Victoria is a huge disappointment. Characters never seem to be as good when someone else plays them. I was a big fan of the movie Save the Last Dance, but Save the Last Dance 2 could not even begin to compare because Sarah was no longer played by Julia Stiles. While a lot of people were a fan of the new Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movies after Richard Harris died, but for me, his character was never quite the same again. I cannot even bring myself to watch the second Grease movie knowing that Olivia Newton John and John Travolta don't appear in it.

Who is the New Actress Playing Victoria in Eclipse?

Bryce Dallas Howard is the new actress who will be playing Victoria. She is the most well known for roles as Gwen Stacy in "Spider-man 3" and Ivy Walker in "The Village." Howard was, of course, chosen for the role based on her red hair and appearance which is fairly similar to that of the first actress, Rachelle LeFevre. The reason that there was a change in actresses, according to Internet Movie Database, is because Rachelle LeFevre was fired due to schedule overlapping with the movie "Barney's Version" that she was filming.

Will Bryce Dallas Howard Play Victoria as Fiercely in Eclipse?

Many fans feel that based on the Eclipse trailer, it does not seem as though Bryce Dallas Howard will play Victoria's role quite as fiercely as Lefevre did in Twilight and New Moon. However, the Eclipse movie trailer only shows Victoria for a short period of time - only making it clear enough for us to realize that she is still after Bella Swan. Most of the Eclipse trailer actually focuses on the love triangle between Bella Swan, vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), and werewolf Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner).

I guess we won't know for sure how well Bryce Dallas Howard will play Victoria until we see the movie. However, it would not be at all surprising if this is one aspect of the Twilight Saga: Eclipse which is slightly disappointing. That being said, we won't actually know until we saw how it plays out on the big screen. It's hard to imagine that any fans of the Twilight Saga will stop watching simply because of the switch of actresses in Eclipse.
