After narrowly escaping the opening day, Villanova will not back down. Simply put, the coach won't let him. Jay Wright's coaching is unparalleled to none. Year after year he coach's undersized and less talented players than that of their big east rivals. Why do they keep winning every year? TEAM BASKETBALL.
This year's class of talented teams all have the potential to win the tournament, but only a few really play like a team. And Villanova is one of them. Team's that might run into their path are Louisville and Duke. I was thoroughly impressed with Duke's win over Texas. They played great team ball and have very talented kids. They all have one thing in common though, they choke. The Wildcats will take advantage of this as they can have any given player on their team be the person to lead them to victory.
Team Defense is also another factor that comes into play, and I think Villanova is the only team that can stifle any team they come across. Now, Louisville proved in the big east tournament that they could hang with the 'cats, but Villanova has the leadership and key experience to bypass Louisville and on to greatness. And if it isn't this year, surely you can find the Wildcats back in the Final Four next year.
To recap everything, Villanova is destined for greatness. Whether all of their talents come to together to lead them, that is up to them. It will be a tough road to get there, but I think that the Wildcats just might have what it takes to get it done.
