Is the VW Teardrop the Cheapest Car in the World?

At About $600.00 Total Cost - You Be the Judge!

Just think of it, this car would change the face of American highways across the board as well as change driving habits and dependence on foreign oil. For only the purchase price of one month's rent you would actually own a brand new eco-friendly car enabling you to only visit the gas pump a few times a month (depending)!

But, you wonder, where can you get your hot little hands on one? Hold on - the car is not yet available in the continental US. At least...not yet.

This car is only available this year in Shanghai for US $600.00 (converting from Chinese 4,000Yin).

It is slated to make its US appearance next year. But this little single-seat beauty (shaped like a tear drop) may not get here soon enough.

Its being called the cheapest car in the world even beating out India's TATO Nano by price and mileage! Just developed by VW out of Wolfsburg, Germany and produced exclusively by the Chinese, this is a suburbanite's dream! Fully operational and in full production this tear-shaped, aerodynamic beauty is road-ready in every way! It has only one seat however and for many Americans that may present some problems.

We are a nation of shoppers, toy-geeks who love to buy 'stuff'. But in this depressed economic downturn perhaps our shopping habits are about to (or already have) undergone a major change?

If so, this car fits in beautifully! Less IS more!

Do I have your attention? Wait till you learn that it will cruise at 65-75 MPH or more! And it gets an astonishing 250 odd miles per gallon but only has a 1.7 gas tank. It may put some hybrids or electric cars to shame making every ounce of gas really count!

Impressed yet? But there's more! This car is super hi-tech and the epitome of space-age design and engineering. Note the clean style and interior!

In my opinion, this truely is the most economical (cheap) car in the world and totally supports 'green-living', cuts fuel costs and best of all - no car payments! How many of us would absolutely love that?!

But the infrastructure to maintain the vehicle has to be in place in the US first. Did you have a look at those tires? What about the battery? What kind of oil does it need? So be sure you can maintain the vehicle before trekking over to China before the car is formally introduced in the States.

It might just be worth the wait...
