Surfing clothing has become a fashion statement, possibly suggesting several things about the type of person who runs around in board shorts, a tee shirt and a surf hoodie. Comfortability and functionality is really what surf clothing is all about. Surfers are tough on their clothes, so the industry was forced to create surfing clothes that were durable. Maybe that why so many people are wearing them? Board shorts are even worn by the geriatric crowd now. They are made to last in the ocean. Certainly they will last on the shore when worn by the non-surfering crowd. There are so many popular brands today Quicksilver, Roxy, Billabong to name a few. They seem to want to liquidate them before the new fashions come out.
