Is it Worth the Price? - The Deluxe Fresh Flow Pet Fountain

Recently, I was browsing the pet aisles at a local Wal Mart when I noticed the Deluxe Fresh Flow Pet Fountain. I had never seen or heard of it before so I decided to check it out. The box said that the fountain provided fresh, oxygenated water to pets. It also said that it had an added health benefit for pets because it encourages them to drink more water, which is good for humans and pets. The water also has to go through a filter, supposedly making it cleaner and healthier for pets to drink. It was priced at $29.99, which isn't too high, but high enough to make me think about it before spending the money. I wasn't completely sure about it, so I left the store without it.

I did some online browsing to get a little more info on the Deluxe Fresh Flow Pet Fountain. This is where I learned that they come in different sizes (small, medium, large). I figured the medium sized one I saw at Wal Mart would e the perfect size for two cats.

The more I researched the Deluxe Fresh Flow Pet Fountain the more I decided that one would work great for my two cats, Siren and Vegas. I wasn't convinced that the fountain would make the cats drink more water, but I was pretty sure that they would like it, especially Vegas. Vegas loves water. He doesn't even care if he gets wet. Any time someone goes into the bathroom, Vegas is right there on the sink waiting for the water to be turned on so he can play and have a drink or two.

So, I figured that the Deluxe Fresh Flow Pet Fountain would be a great way for the cats to get water and Vegas would have fun with it. He would be able to play in the water anytime he wanted.

I returned to Wal Mart a few days later and bought the medium sized Deluxe Fresh Flow Pet Fountain for $29.99. I brought it home and found that it was very easy to put together. In less than five minutes I was able to put it together, fill the basin and reservoir tank with water, and plug it in. Water came flowing out and before long the cats were drinking out of it. Vegas seemed to like it, however he still needed his daily fix of sink water.

At this point I was pretty happy with the Deluxe Fresh Flow Pet Fountain. However, I quickly had to add more water to the reservoir tank. The next day I heard a strange sucking noise coming from the fountain. Even though there was water in the fountain, it needed more, so I filled it up and the noise stopped, but not for long. I quickly realized that the fountain seems to require a lot of water. My cats don't drink that much water, but it seems like the fountain always needs more water added to it otherwise you will hear an annoying sound coming from the fountain.

I decided that the fountain was just too much work. It did the job, but it was too much hassle. I replaced the fountain with a regular bowl and the cats don't know any difference. The fountain didn't make them any happier or healthier, in my opinion. So, for me, the Deluxe Fresh Flow Pet Fountain was not worth the $29.99 price.
