ISkin Revo 2 Is A Case All Its Own

They've done it again. Since Apple released the iSkin Revo2 iPhone case, it has been selling like hotcakes and is arguably the best iPhone case on the market. The silicon cover fits like a glove, as is sassy, and user-friendly without looking overbearing. The colors are eye-catching. The protection is unparalleled. But. . .the same things can be said for the original iSkin silicon case. So what makes this part deux so special?

The original iSkin was near revolutionary, if a bit pricey. The cover fit snugly and yet allowed easy access to necessities such as the volume and ear speaker. With padded corners, there was little fear of damage should the phone slip from your grasp. And with two covers, one being a plastic VISOR that protects the face, and the other being a protective film that not only deterred fingerprints, but allowed privacy protection from certain angels, this case was an ideal purchase for both businessman and private user.

The new iSkin Revo2 has kept many of these features. The silicon-polycarbonate cover still protects the phone from a fall. The textured grips remain.

The plastic VISOR is back for those who feel the need for extra screen protection, be it from butterfinger syndrome or tiny toddler hands eager to press buttons. The VISOR can be stored via the back attachment, but some users have complained that it is hard to secure. Unless you are extremely active, you might want to leave the VISOR at home, or in your car.

The headphone and charging ports are covered, and do not randomly pop open. The screen protector is an improvement over the original iSkin, using a piece of anti-glare film rather than the darker privacy film, which only worked at certain angles anyway. The anti-microbial screen film is a tighter fit from the original, allowing virtually no dust or specks to settle, and leaves no residue. However, the sensitivity of the touch screen seems diminished with this new film.

So is it an improvement? Maybe. Apple is definitely heading in the right direction, but the revo2 is still pricey at forty dollars a pop, not including the shipping price. The wear of the product lasts, with no stretching. I've yet to hear of an iSkin protected iPhone suffering from a drop. Even with the steep asking price, this remains one of the more durable cases on the market, and the sells figures show it. I think many agree that when comparing forty dollars for a case versus the possibility of purchasing a replacement iPhone, the forty bucks wins out.

You can purchase the iSkin Revo2 online at www.iskin.com or at any of your local Apple retailers. Also try eBay, or www.nextag.com for good deals, up to half off the purchase price.
