Islam: Why We Must Be Vigilant

We Must Not Allow Ourselves to Live in Fear, but the Threats Are Real

Al Stefanelli
Saturday is the ninth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States of America. Until that moment of time, we only read about terrorism happening in third world countries. We were content, it seemed, that these people were happy just blowing each other up. We got used to the reports and had come to expect them from certain countries. Reporters expounded on death threats and images of bombed out buildings, broken windows and torched cars filled our television and computer screens, but they were always happening somewhere else.

Then reality hit that fateful day in September of 2001. All hell broke loose, and it came from every direction imaginable. But here we are, nine years later, and it almost seems as if many people have forgotten all the emotion, turmoil, destruction and rage that surrounded the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

But we must not ever forget why we were attacked, who attacked us, what they represent, their ideologies and the fact that they have not changed their dedication to their cause. The nine years that has passed did not change the beliefs of those who attacked us. They remain just as barbaric, intolerant, ignorant and arrogant as they were in 2001, believing that they have the divine right, given to them by their god, to commit cold-blooded murder and the diplomacy and political correctness offered up by those in our government who are afraid of speaking the truth about the religion of Islam have only served to embolden them.

As well, the moderates who are insistent that we have nothing to worry about where Islam is concerned have lambasted those of us who understand that their ultimate goal is world domination through indoctrination, subjugation or annihilation as guilty of fear-mongering and misrepresenting Islam. What we are witnessing is the demand for mandatory respect of a system of beliefs that condones terrorism.

Every day in our newspapers, on our televisions and through the Internet we are being bombarded by the Islamic propaganda machine while they enjoy a renewed confidence that they can strike again. We must not allow ourselves to live in fear, but the threats are real. Islamic ideologies allow acts of terrorism and barbarism, and their presence here in the United States should be looked upon with a watchful eye. They say they are a religion of peace, but their actions say otherwise and no matter how thick the sheep's clothing may seem, we need to be vigilant in our remembrance of how deadly the wolves are and how easily they can be provoked.

It is our responsibility to thoroughly inspect everything that comes out of Islam as if it were a Trojan Horse. To do anything less is a total and complete lack of respect for those who died on September 11th, 2001.

I'm guessing you've never been to a Muslim country as this article couldn't be further from the truth. I spend a lot of time every year in Muslim countries and love the people there. Much nicer than many Americans, IMO, and a lot less scary.
