Islamic Militants Launch 10,000th Attack Since Sept. 11, 2001

On November 14, 2007, Islamic terrorists carried out a bombing in Dushanbe that officials officially called a terrorist attack, perpetrated by Islamic fundamentalists in the country. The attack killed a 77-year old janitor who was moving to pick up a plastic bag off the ground, which turned out to be rigged with explosives. The government then transferred local foreign tourists to a "safer position", according to Radio Free Europe Radio Free Liberty.

Unwittingly, the attack carries with it a grim milestone: this is the 10,000th attack to be carried out by Islamic militants since September 11, 2001. Or rather, the 10,000th confirmed, fatal terrorist attack since 9/11. The attacks have been cataloged by the website known as The Religion of Peace, which has been targeted by some groups as a "hate site" for its meticulous archiving of Islamic terrorist activities, although to date there has been no successful disputation of any of the numbers found there, says owner Glen Reinsford.

When asked how he compiles the data, he said in an interview, "The information comes from a variety of sources Just about everything in the way of news and opinion pieces comes from the Web. Same with the list of attacks, which are found on Internet News sources. Many of the articles that I write are based on my own reading."

The milestone achievement of 10,000 fatal terrorist attacks was not long held, however, as the very same day, three more terrorist attacks were carried out in India and Iraq, including a political assassination of an Indian official, and two civilian suicide bombings.

Since the 14th, twenty more terrorist attacks have also been carried out by Islamic extremists, bringing the total up to 10023 since September 11th, and 15 attacks carried out today.

Many of the attacks take place outside of battle zones such as Iraq or Afghanistan, though some of the most devastating do, such as mutilation of 30 Shi'ites found in a Sunni's hosue.

The Council on American Islamic Relations, otherwise known as CAIR, was unable to be immediately reached for comment on the new milestone, however the organization has traditionally insisted on a distance between Islam and terror organizations - mirroring the wishes of Prime Minister Gordan Brown who all but condemns the notion of referring to any terrorism perpetrated by Muslims as "Islamic terrorism".

Perhaps most importantly about the cataloging, the United States does not appear in any of the 10,000 carried out terrorist attacks since the D.C. sniper - perhaps the last successful act of terrorism inside the nation's borders. Since then, there have been several broken up terror plots, including an attempt to destroy several planes over American cities with liquid based explosives, and a plot to blow up JFK airport.

Other tragic numbers include 94 terror attacks that resulted in the deaths of almost 400 people during the 10 day lap between Yom Kippur and Ramadan this year, and 52 attacks carried out between November 3rd and November 9th, which totaled 304 deaths.

  • Islamic terrorists have carried out 10023 terrorist attacks since 9/11 at the time of this article.
  • The British Prime Minister decries the use of the term Islamic terrorism.
  • The 10023 terrorist attacks only include those that have resulted in a fatality.
Despite claims to the contrary, Islamic terrorism is responsible for the vast majority of fatal terrorist attacks across the globe.

The greatest terror attack is: the one we keep allowing by NOT using overwhelming force to crush the enemy entirely and win/end the war.

Oh, you mean the 84,250 Iraqi civilians that were almost 100% killed by Muslims? Are those the ones you were referring to Jack Oceano? I would hope not, because that would be stupid.

And the greatest terror attack - Bush's war and occupation of Iraq - has resulted in the death of approximately 84,250 Iraqi civilians, as well as thousands of American soldiers.
