Learning Arabic can be a difficult task, especially when you have to learn from a foreign instructor and pay high tuition fees. However, Free Islamic Online University makes learning Arabic convenient, fun and easy.

First and foremost, this online Islamic university is completely free. Yes, it's true...no cost to you. This makes learning Arabic all the more exciting. All you do is register with on the university's website at www.islamiconlineuniversity.com and you can begin picking out short free online classes instructed by Dr. Bilal Phillips, a very well-known Islamic teacher and speaker. Free Islamic Online University is Dr. Phillip's bright idea, and I do mean bright.

According to the history section of the website for the university, IOU started out as a product of Dr. Phillip's teaching courses in Islamic Studies at the American University of Dubai. However, after several years of hardship and technical difficulties, he was able to establish an online Islamic curriculum for anyone who wass willing to walk down the path of knowledge. Not only does his program teach beginners how to read and write Arabic, you can learn how to establish the Islamic prayer, Foundations of Islamic Studies, Moral Foundation of Islamic Cultures, Da'wah Training Course, Fiqh of Tahaarrah, Explanation of Kitaab at-Tawheed, Usool at Tafseer and Hadith, Qadar, Fiqh of Fasting, Three Shelters, Al-Nawawi's 40 Hadiths, Prophetic Reflections on Ramadan, Final Destination Funeral Rites in Islam, Explanation of Nullifiers in Islam, and Fiqh of Marriage. Dr. Phillip's also offers a "FREE" Bachelor's in Islamic Studies, which is absolutely amazing.

Dr. Phillip's Arabic course is wonderful; however, he does not teach conversational Arabic in this course. He does however, teach students how to read and write Arabic in order to study and memorize the Qur'an.

The Beginner's Arabic course is all pre-recorded, so you can work at your own pace. They don't have any deadlines set up, so it is all up to you! If you work a full-time job and only have time to practice on the weekends then you can do so easily. If you want to spend an entire week taking the course at an incredibly fast paced, you can choose too. You turn in your homework when you are ready and take online tests when you feel most comfortable. You work completely at your own pace and set your own learning goals.

Because the Beginner's Arabic Course is all pre-recorded you can easily rewind and fast-forward lessons. Dr. Bilal Phillip's voice is very easy to understand, and he speaks slowly enough so you can follow along easily. All you do is download the Adobe Acrobat PDF online workbook and you follow along precisely. You can even print out worksheets and work on them as Dr. Phillip's teaches you. It is an amazing method and you will be surprised at how fast you will begin reading and writing Arabic.

Turning in homework is very simple. You will need a scanner to do so. All you do is scan in your completed worksheets, save them as a file and turn in under assignments. In a couple of days, someone from the university will review your work and give you a grade. With the reading and dictation homework, you will need to have a microphone and download an audio recording program like Audacity to record your voice reading the assigned Arabic words. Once you have recorded, you save and turn into the university as an MP3 format and within a few days someone will review your work and give you a grade.

Once you have completed the course you will receive a Certificate of Completion for your hard work and effort. It is all so simple and convenient, even a child could take the course and best of all it is completely free.

I hope this article was of some guidance and help to you God Willing.
