Israel Announce Step Up in Action Against War on Terror

Leaflets Dropped by Israeli Bombers Urging People to Leave Gaza

The Portland Journal
Latest developments in Israels assault on Palestinian militants are set to be the most intense yet in the ongoing conflict.

Israel has been waging it's own war on terror, which has left more than 700 Palestinian civilians dead it has been claimed. Latest figures being put at 786, with more than 3000 injured.

Sky News Uk have been reporting that Israeli forces are set to intensify the action within Gaza. With bombers from the Israeli Air-force dropping thousands of leaflets urging people to leave Gaza for there own safety.

"In the coming period, the Israeli army will continue to attack tunnels, weapons caches, and terrorists with escalating force all over the Gaza Strip," the residents of southern Gaza are told in the leaflets.

Israels response to rockets and mortars being fired into its country has been intense. Israel have promised a three hour cease-fire to allow aid from the UN and other organizations into Gaza. But have said once the three hours are up. Then the bombings and troop movements are likely to be increase.

The action by Israel has not stopped the rockets and mortars being fired into Israel or at its armed forces. Which suggests that the current assault is not working. Which is why Israel plan to intensify its bombardment of Gaza.

Hundreds of thousands of people in major cities all round the world have been protesting against the war. Most protests have been peaceful, but in the UK one protest got out of hand. Sky News also reported that about 300 riot police clashed with a group of protesters in London, after they began throwing objects through windows and at police. With 3 people being arrested after one police officer was knock unconscious.

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has also been criticized by his sister-in-law, actress Lauren Booth. She condemned Tony Blair's his comments about the call for a cease-fire in Gaza would condemn Palestinians "to a slow agonizing death".

In an amazing outburst Cherie Blair's half-sister, Lauren Booth said: "Tony Blair's only comment regarding the ceasefire has been to say that it can only take place after the tunnels in Gaza are destroyed. What he is suggesting means that after the massacre people will have no access to food, kerosene and medicines that came through those tunnels. That is not a ceasefire that is a slow agonizing death."

Although Lauren's comments seemingly have good intentions, those same tunnels that are linked to Egypt, have also been used to sneak all manner of weapons and ammunition into Gaza it is alleged.

Updated news by Sky News sources as I type have said that even though there was a three hour period in which a cease-fire was supposed to be allowed, for the movement of aid into Gaza, rockets where still fired by Palestinian Militants, so in turn there was a continued exchange in gunfire from both sides.
