'It Happened One Night' the Perfect Valentine's Day Movie Pick

Vanessa Stewart
The 1934 Frank Capra-directed classic "It Happened One Night" is a romantic comedy starring Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert. Socialite Ellie Andrews (Colbert) is on the run from her father, who disapproves of her mismatched marriage to King Westley (Jameson Thomas). While she attempts to return to King, she is discovered by Peter Warne (Gable), a newspaper reporter who knows a good story when he sees one. What begins as an inconvenient arrangement soon turns into an unlikely romance as Peter and Ellie encounter little adventures together.

"It Happened One Night" is our favorite addition to a Valentine's Day movie-marathon as it reminds us of the hijinks that sometimes ensue when we are off adventuring together. This classic film definitely remains relatable to the couples of today and carries the right amount of romance and screwball comedy that any man will enjoy watching right alongside his girl.
