Ordering healthy at a fast food restaurant may not be as impossible as you think it is. It is obvious that the menus at places such as Wendy's, McDonald's, Burger King and Taco Bell are filled with saturated fat, carbohydrates and calories up the hoo-ha. However, there are some ways around all the unhealthy options. Here are my tricks of the trade for ordering as healthy as possible when eating in a fast food establishment.

When ordering a salad do not get anything that sounds too fancy , that sounds like a taco or with Crispy chicken. If you must get chicken in your salad order Grilled chicken only. Steer clear of crispy chicken that is just code for breaded and dunked into a greasy fryer. Do Not order dressing , not even on the side because chances are you will be too tempted to eat it , and will. If you Must order dressing do not! i repeat DO NOT! order a cream based dressing. It will add at the very least 100 calories to your meal. Its just not worth it.

When you feel like ordering a burger order a sandwich instead. Lets say you want to order a Whopper or a Big Mac , get a Grilled Chicken sandwich on a whole wheat bun instead. Another tip to ordering healthy in a Fast food restaurant is to never order mayo on your sandwich. I am well aware of the fact that it is damn near impossible to Go to A fast food Restaurant and order something without fries on the side , i understand its part of the experience. Try to order small fries , and if you are ordering a meal and small fries are not an option , then order the standard sized fry for your order and share that with someone. You will be surprised to find out how healthy your meal actually can be McDonald's Or Burger King when you learn to skimp on the fries.

Never Order a Milk Shake or a Soda , Learn to stick with bottled water , not only will you feel a sense of superiority watching your friends down a super sized Coca Cola while you drink your calorie free water. Just think how much longer they have to run on the treadmill to work off that 300 calorie drink than you. Just remember do not feel pressured into ordering unhealthy food just because everyone around you has no clue on how to work the menu to their advantage.
