It Seems Everyone Loves John McCain in Virginia

RICHMOND, Virginia -- Early on Monday I went to a press conference where John McCain delivered a speech for the people of Maryland, and answered questions for the press. I was invited to that event, and without really wanting to go, because I'm not a Republican or interested in hearing from Republicans, I was persuaded and went.

I actually enjoyed hearing what the Republican candidate had to say, and I was not disappointed extremely with his plans and goals if he were elected President, or if he wont the bid of the Republican party. He was very clear with what he wanted, and what his plans were to get those things going. He had a wonderful plan for our military, if I do say so myself, it was one that would not bring our troops home, but it would ensure that they were well equipped to win while in Iraq.

I knew that later on that same day McCain would be having a campaign rally in Richmond, Virginia, and I since that was our next stop would be close to there, I actually asked my boyfriend if he'd like to stop by, he quickly replied "Of course, if you do." So we headed towards Richmond right after stopping at a local Wendy's to RSVP tickets to the even online.

Campaign Rally In Virginia

The rally didn't start until 5:30pm, and although we got there about 30 minutes before the rally was to begin, we stopped by the local McDonald's to get some food. This McDonald's was only about two miles from the Virginia Aviation Museum where the even would be held, and while there we heard people talking about McCain being in town. It seemed that everyone was looking forward to seeing this man speak.

When the even started, at around 5:35, John McCain got up on a stage and spoke to the people very casually. After about 10 minutes he started to get very serious, and you could see in his face the determination he has to make this country a better place than it is now. Every two minutes or so, when he would pause, the crowd would cheer for him, and he smiled with joy.

The Atmosphere In The Museum

It seems that the Republicans of Virginia love John McCain. They were all very please with his answers to many of their questions, and the didn't want to see him leave after it was over.

Everyone who was close enough gathered around McCain after his rally speech to try and get anything they could from him. Many people were just yelling out his name over and over again, or letting him know that they would vote for him.

The experience for me was one that I will not forget ever. If it turns out that John McCain will be our next President of The United States, or if he's not, ,I will still be happy that I got to see him speak twice, and that I heard what he has to say. After all, it's not everyday that someone gets to experience listening to someone who has so much passion, devotion, and motivation to make our country a better place for others.
