Italian Inspired Cooking

I've always been crazy about all things Italian inspired. Good Seasons makes a tangy salad dressing
mix with five calories per two tablespoons. Parade makes Italian dressing at ninety calories per two tablespoons. You decide which method of preparing and serving this topping fits your lifestyle.

Combine vinegar, water, oil and contents of the ingredients packet. You can do this with your own
herbs too. What's in Italian dressing? American's favorite bottled and prepackaged dressing
consists of water, oil, vinegar, lemon juice, black pepper, sugar, minced onions and bell peppers.
In Italy, you'll find olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper poured fresh over veggies is preferred over
our version of pre mixed vinaigrette.

Something else I enjoy is spontaneity. I love to boil my tomatoes whole and eat them with my dinner
rather than get them from a can.

Meatballs wrapped up in whole wheat bread is also a favorite of mine. This afternoon for lunch,
I spread tomato sauce on whole wheat with minced onion on top, sprinkled feta cheese and added
a few fresh spinach leaves along with a tomato slice on top to complete my creation and put it in
the oven for about five minutes on a very low setting, around 250 degrees so as to not deplenish
the nutritional values via over cooking.. Yummy. The whole family enjoyed these treats.
I put celery stalks in the oven and poured tomato sauce in them and cut tomatoes in half to
place on the baking pan as well. Delicious.

Years ago, a neighbor suggested using sausage instead of hamburger meat in my spaghetti.
I thought he meant ground breakfast sausage and it turns out this is very good in spaghetti.
Everytime I make this dish, I use fresh tomatoes, onions, garlic, chives, and basil.

I love Italian inspired food. When food is spicey so is life and this is why I also enjoy Spanish
inspired cooking and the rich flavor of French food. It's time for dinner!
