It's Better to Lie

Jaded
You say take my hand
Walk down memory lane
Don't think I can
I just can't handle the pain
To cry those tears
And feel you letting go again
Just walk away
Don't say goodbye
I'll hold my breath
I'll close my eyes
I'll say you weren't here
It's better to lie

You break me down
You don't have a clue
It seems surreal
To think that I thought I knew
What love could mean
Unconditionally
There's no such thing
Or so it seems

How'd you get here?
Back under my skin
Back to that place I told myself
I'd never let you in
I tried so hard
To make you proud, make you forgive
I've given up
This just ain't a way to live

Yet here I am
Crying over missing you
All these years
Look what a moment can do
Tear me down
Leave me bare
Red and raw
Blood and tears
And you
You don't seem to care

You said take my hand
Walk down memory lane
I just can't
I'm not built to handle this pain
To cry these tears
To feel you letting go again
Just walk away
Don't say goodbye
I'll hold my breath
I'll close my eyes
Pretend that this was just a dream
Sometimes it's better to lie.
