It's cold tonight, and as I walk
The sky's so black, a heavy black
That wants to permeate my soul
I fight it off and don't look back.
It's cold tonight, and streetlights find
My lonely shadow chasing me
I turn, confronting, and demand
Oh go away, you! Darkness, flee!
It's cold tonight, but then I see
Bright stars that bring my heart delight
It's true then, what they say, that stars
Shine brightest on the darkest nights.

Post a CommentGreat poem I can't stand when the darkness follows...It's bitter cold haunting stare!
I think it's the engineer in me that figures out how to unlock what's in my mind and heart, and then the poet takes over.
How do you get this out of 0101010101?
