It's Getting Hotter - Climate Change (Global Warming)

Colby Rines
Global warming refers to the average temperature rise at the global level. Global warming has turned out to be the most complicated issue to the world today. The heating up of the earth's surface as well as the sea is just as a result of warming. This warming started in the past half of the last century consequent to manmade green house gases. There are several major symptoms of climatic global changes and these are as elaborated hereunder.

According to the NASA's coded for space studies, 1.4 degreed Fahrenheit, which is equivalent to 0.8 degrees Celsius, is what the average temperature of the earth has risen to. There has also been an increase in the warming rate and it has been said that the warmest century since the 400 years is the 20th century and this is according to climatic studies. There are various location affected mostly by this, including thee arctic areas of Alaska, as well as western Canada and eastern Russia. In these areas, temperatures have risen to twice the global average.

There is the disappearance of the arctic ice and by 2040, it is anticipated that the arctic is going to be completely ice-free. Already suffering from the sea ice-loss, are the polar bears. Also melting rapidly are the glaciers and mountain snows and a clear example is the Montana's glacier park, which has been left with only 27 glaciers today compared to 150 glaciers in 1910.

A consensus study by 2500 scientist who came from more than 130 countries, humans have been found to be the contributors of global warming. A simple term used in global warming is that it can be referred to as the climate change anthropogenic. Green houses gases; carbon dioxide; methane as well as nitrous oxide, are solemnly responsible for heating the earth's surface and they are as a result of the increase of industrialization, deforestation and pollution.

It is important while talking about global warming, to really look at what can happen in the future. There is the IPCC report that was released in 2007, which states that global warming main culprits are the large scale water and food shortages that bare an effect on the global wildlife. In most situations, there is a rise in sea levels of up to 7 to 23 inches, which is 19-59 centimeters. Of course, a rise that is 4 inches (10 centimeters) should ultimately cause floods in the South Seas islands and the swamps that are in the larger parts of the Southeast Asia.

In no time, glaciers would be a forgotten thing as they are melting all round the world. This causes rise in sea levels, which raises the water shortages confining certain regions to depend on run off for fresh water. If actually global warming isn't abated, then the world will have to live with common occurrences of hurricanes that are very strong, ravaging droughts, heat waves and wildfires.

Colby.. are you in a time warp?
Give it up... It's over.. the data has been lost/deleted/destroyed. The head of CRU has admitted that the temps haven't risen for the past 15 years. James Hansen at NASA has been caught fudging the numbers... The IPCC has been discredited. It's all over... dead... kaput! Google ClimateGate to get better informed.
