National Poetry Month Daily Challenge: Sports Short

Khara E. House
In fact, he was anything but. The voice
Of the game, the sound of the scoreboard-
The fan favorite broadcaster
With the voice of thunder and silk.
Anything but-nothing less than the roar of the fans
Rising and dying from his lungs.
Now he's Outta here-rounding third,
Headed home. And all we have to wish him
Is the love of the game.
