It's like a Tomb

Dotchi Latham
Empty. It's just empty.
And my voice echoes off of the walls
Lonely. So terribly lonely.
Stranded here with no one at all.

It's like a tomb in here
Where the pharaohs are buried
Only darker and sadder
Without all the scary

It still has the cobwebs
The chilled moistened tears
If you lift the lid
You'll see, I'm in here.

I cry and listen to my sobs
As they bounce around the chamber
It's like grief trapped inside
Only a little bit tamer.

It's the soul wanting something
...it can't have
And wanting it so much it
...forgets how to laugh

Empty. It's so empty in here.
The air is so dusty and trying
I want out of this tomb...
If only I could stop crying.

Lonliness and depression; nasty stuff definately. I have seen so many great poetry come out of it, though. Great poem!

Yes it is. And I don't think some of them want to admit it either. Thanks for reading.

I can relate to the feelings expressed in your poem. Depression is a condition affected by too many people.
