It's Official: Britney Spears Checks into Rehab (Again)

According to reports from the Associated Press, Britney Spears has checked into a rehab facility. The name of the facility has not been given, but her manager, Larry Rudolph, has issued a statement saying, ""We ask that the media respect her privacy as well as those of her family and friends at this time."

Spears, 25, voluntarily checked herself into the facility Tuesday, following a weekend that can only be described as strange. After flying back from the Caribbean on a coach class ticket, Spears shaved her head in a Tarzana, California hair salon and received two new tattoos shortly afterwards. While in the Caribbean, she also checked into a rehab facility (sources claim the Crossroads in Antigua), but left after 24 hours.

It seems like scandal has been following Spears since her separation in September to husband Kevin Federline. Britney has been spotted partying with Paris Hilton into the wee hours of the morning, having a somewhat disheveled appearance in public, and was photographed on more than one occasion wearing no underpants while exiting a vehicle.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have two children together, Jayden and Sean Preston. Those close to the star have publicly voiced their concern over her recent behavior, including her former assistant, Felicia Culotta. In an online letter to That Other Blog, Culotta wrote, "I cannot save her from herself, nor can I commit her to any type of treatment program against her wishes and will. I am throwing my hands up and realizing that I am helpless over another ..."

Spears' website, britneyspears.com, has been down for quite some time, telling fans to stay tuned, for a new site that is in the works.
