When I was growing up, I had no use for television. To be honest, I did not even know what Shark Week was until after I got married. After that, it became the bane of my existence for one week out of every year. The funny thing is I never gave it a chance. My husband and stepchild were so consumed by it that I could do naught but be frustrated. They would fall asleep in front of Shark Week. I was shooed away from the television because of Shark Week. Worst of all, (I blame you for this, Discovery Channel), my normally structured and well-behaved son would rush to the television first thing in the morning and turn on Discovery Channel without asking (permission is needed on my watch). He even wanted to eat in front of Shark Week!
That was it. I loved Discovery Channel for the documentaries I often found myself watching, but I was so tired of hearing their commercials and all of the hype about Shark Week that I entirely wrote it off for the next four years. Then, a miracle occurred. I actually had the time to sit down and watch Shark Week this past year and watch it without having to clean around my family and feed them in the living room. That week I came to the conclusion that Shark Week is totally awesome! Do not get me wrong. I am not going to stop functioning this week (like the males in my family will). However, I am going to enjoy me some shark footage.

shshshshsark! lol
I haven't watched it, but I know what you mean about the adverts. Some of the Discovery channel adverts just get played over and over... It gets really annoying.
It's totally awesome, Eric! I'm so ordering a pizza and watching sharks all night tomorrow.
Oh yeah! It's only Sunday and already we've got a shark chomping on a Zodiac boat for no reason at all (forcing the guy to dive onto the other boat), a guy towing himself and a small fake seal all by himself to catch a shark breach, and a guy riding a floating dead whale that is being eaten by 20+ Great White sharks! Bring on Monday!
