It's so Easy to Forgive

Your Colored Chips

Dan Reveal
If friendship was an apple,
I'd save a bite for you.
I don't need to hold your hand
to know your friendship smile is true.

And let us nurture our compassion,
as we face the winter wind.
I wish I was like those other guys,
but I keep looking back to where I've been.

I keep looking back to where I've been.

It's so easy to forgive once you know the truth,
so think of me as the one who got away.
It only takes a second to cash in your colored chips,
and use those same colors to paint a happier day.

I once heard in a story what loneliness meant,
so I'll make my friendship something that is always real.
It's only love that's spilling out upon this page--
a love that's so freely given, a love that you can feel.

It's so easy to forgive once you know the truth,
so think of me as the one who got away.
It only takes a second to cash in your colored chips,
and use those same colors to paint a happier day.

And use those same colors to paint a happier day.
