It's Time Again for the HGTV Dream Home Giveaway!

It is hard to believe that it is that time of the year again, the Holidays are finally over and you are just now preparing to settle into a long cold winter trying to stay tucked in nice and cozy to preserve your warmth.

Spring Break and island vacations are about the only thing on the minds of many Americans aside of the thought of paying back their Holiday debt. If only you could escape and get away from it all? Where would you go?

I received an email today and much to my amazement I discovered that this years HGTV dream home is in none other than my own fantasy location; Islamorada, Florida. Right away I went to the HGTV website, logged on and signed up for my chance to win this impeccable home which is nothing shy of an utter fantasy.

Nestled on a secluded Bay, on the Gulf Side of the Florida Keys, this dream home has everything even the most discriminating home owner could ever ask for. Three stories tall, sporting the classic Beach/ Miami Art Deco style that trails throughout the Keys, this monster house is a beaut! With white and light blue exterior, in my opinion this house pops out as being one of HGTV's greatest achievements in designing a dream home so far.

Sporting just three bedrooms, this home does not lack space. There is a bedroom on the first level for the kids, with two twin beds and plenty of room to stash their belongings. The Second Floor holds a lavishly simple Guest Bedroom ,with its very own California Closet, Laundry room and bathroom. On the third floor it is the ultimate in bedroom suites. Be pampered with a huge Cal King size bed with a view unlike no other, step out to the private balcony and sip your morning coffee overlooking the beautiful Gulf Of Mexico. You can also enjoy world renowned sunsets off your very own back patio, this is what draws so many visitors to the Florida Keys in the first place! Absolutely stunning!

There are plenty of other perks to this home aside of the prime view and location.

The kitchen for this home did strike me as being somewhat different. While not large on space, it packs everything in nicely and within reach. The interesting thing is that there is a closet off of the kitchen full of space to keep your dry and canned goods. At the end of the closet is where the refrigerator and freezer stands, convenient but placed in a different way, unlike most kitchen set ups.

A very unique feature to this house is that there is a Fishing Room beside the garage, stocked with several different styles of fishing poles and equipment.
Islamorada, Florida is the "Sports Fishing Capital of the World" and renowned for their Grouper and Mackerel. If you have never had fresh seafood from Islamorada or the Florida Keys, you do not know what you are missing!

The home is designed to fit right in with the flavor of the area. From the beach house decor to the stunning sand and paver brick walkways, you will never want to leave this home on the beach.

There are some downfalls to winning a house in paradise. The winner of this spectacular dream home will be responsible for all taxes and insurance, which in that neck of the woods, is bound to be very pricey.

There is no denying that having this contest allows the average person like myself an opportunity to get a jump ahead in living the life of their dreams.

I have always loved the Keys and I have vacationed there twice and it is so hard each time to say goodbye and come back home to Michigan.
If I win the HGTV Dream House in Islamorada, it will surely be a dream come true for my family and myself. I would not hesitate to sell out and move down to where the sun is always shining and salty air is so clean and pure.
